The odds are quietly rigged
A 300-entry giveaway with 40 alts behind 7 people is not a 300-person draw. Your regulars are competing against a multiplier they cannot see.
Alts found before the draw
AltGuard is a Discord giveaway bot with real alt account detection. Everyone who enters verifies once, so every entrant is scanned and linked accounts are found before the draw — not after you have paid. Need zero friction instead? Run winner-only mode, where only the drawn winner is checked before the prize goes out.
78/100
Cross-browser device profile matches another account. Account has no message history in this server.
Established account history and real server activity reduce risk. Shared Wi-Fi alone is never treated as proof.
Why this keeps happening
One person with six accounts gets six entries. Your real members get one each.
A 300-entry giveaway with 40 alts behind 7 people is not a 300-person draw. Your regulars are competing against a multiplier they cannot see.
The winner claims the prize, then someone posts screenshots showing the same person won last month under a different name. Now it is a public argument, not a giveaway.
Reading account creation dates on 300 entrants is not moderation, it is unpaid labour. And account age alone misses anyone patient enough to age their alts.
The protected path
Fast for entrants, clear for staff, strict only where payout risk actually exists.
A user clicks Enter. If their verification is missing or expired, AltGuard hands them a secure short-lived link instead of silently accepting the entry.
Account age, profile quality, VPN and proxy risk, identity links, message history, and optional presence data produce a capped 0-100 risk score.
Review alerts by hand, or auto-disqualify above a threshold you choose. Winner selection never draws from the blocked pool.
Evidence, not accusations
AltGuard does not call someone an alt because they share Wi-Fi or made their account last week. Strong and supporting signals stay separated, trust adjustments are visible, and the final action is always yours.
Highest-weight evidence when the same protected fingerprint is reused across accounts.
Connects stable device signals even when an entrant switches between Chrome, Brave, or Firefox.
Useful supporting evidence, never presented as certainty on its own.
Older, active, established members receive visible score reductions.
Fits your current setup
Verification-first entry, custom age rules, linked-account blocking, eligible-only winner selection, winner mentions, and rerolls.
/giveaway create
Scan a visible reaction from another giveaway bot, save the report, export CSV evidence, and let its staff handle the original winner flow.
/giveaway scan-external
Clear limitation: Discord does not expose another bot's private button-entry database. External mode works with visible reactions; native AltGuard mode gives you the full verification gate.
Privacy-conscious by design
Raw IP addresses and raw fingerprint components are never written to the database. What is stored is an HMAC-SHA256 keyed with a secret only AltGuard holds, so it cannot be reversed or matched against a precomputed table.
Identity relationships shown to staff are scoped to the Discord server where verification actually happened.
Setup, scans, reports, onboarding, and owner tools use private Discord responses where appropriate.
Short-lived verification token records are automatically scheduled for deletion after the configured retention period.

Straight answers
No. It produces a risk score and the evidence behind it. Strong identity matches carry the most weight, but moderators remain responsible for bans and final payout decisions.
A shared network is supporting evidence, never proof. Device signals, account history, and server behaviour help staff tell a household or campus network apart from repeat abuse.
No. The address is keyed-hashed with HMAC-SHA256 before it is stored, so a copy of the database cannot recover an address or test a guess against one. The raw address goes transiently to the VPN-risk provider during verification and is not retained.
AltGuard applies explicit trust reductions for established accounts, real message history, and complete profiles. Owners can also run it in review-only mode so nothing is automatic.
It can audit visible reaction entrants from another bot. It cannot read another bot's private button-entry database, so use AltGuard native giveaways when verification must happen before entry.
Two modes, and they do different jobs. Verified entry: everyone who enters verifies once, so every entrant is scanned and linked accounts are found before the draw. It costs you a few entries, because some people will not bother. Winner-only check: nobody verifies to enter and only the drawn winner is checked before the prize is paid, so there is no friction for your members, but an alt who is never drawn is never checked. Start with verified entry, and switch to winner-only if your members refuse the extra step.
AltGuard shows a confirmation step before any ban. Ignore and disqualify stay available for lower-impact decisions.
The free plan covers three protected giveaways a month. Guard is $19/month for unlimited protected giveaways, Pro is $49/month and adds the owner dashboard, and Founding Lifetime is a one-time $149 for a single server.
